Trinity’s music performance qualifications are designed to take instrumental learners and vocalists from their earliest steps as musicians right through to higher education, top international music conservatoires, or into the music industry.
Delivered in-person or digitally for more than 40 instruments and across a broad range of global musical styles and genres, all musicians are assessed by an examiner panel consisting of highly trained specialist musicians with their own extensive industry experience.
They offer the choice and flexibility to allow candidates to showcase their own unique skills as performers using a framework that develops their musical ability and measures progress.
These qualifications promote both technical proficiency and creative musical identity through a diverse range of musical styles and genres — from popular international hits to world-renowned classical repertoire.

The Awards and Certificates in Musical Development are Trinity’s new, fully inclusive qualifications for schools and other settings, and are designed for those with learning difficulties, across the whole spectrum of abilities and needs. Developed in association with Sounds of Intent, these innovative qualifications set a new standard for accessible, inclusive music assessments which are available to all music learners.
Set of fully regulated qualifications
The qualifications are regulated from Entry Level 1 through to Level 3, with Level 3 carrying UCAS points.
Ground-breaking, fully-accessible, regulated music qualifications
Open to all learners from those with profound learning difficulties to those on the autism spectrum with advanced musicianship skills, these new qualifications enable everyone to have their musical achievements and progress formally recognised. Preparation for the assessments can be made during regular music sessions, with achievement and progress continually assessed by the teacher or music leader.

The Awards and Certificates for Musical Development are designed to recognise even the smallest steps in musical progression, and the assessment framework is based on Sounds of Intent’s robust research over the last 20 years into musical development.
Designed for a variety of music education settings
The Awards and Certificates in Musical Development are suitable for learners working individually, in the classroom or any other music-making context. Learners' musical achievements can be recognised through any type of music-making activity within the context of their regular music learning sessions.

Trinity College London Press (TCL Press), Trinity’s publishing arm, provides musicians and educators the world over with materials that offer a perfect blend of academic rigour, industry relevance and engaging repertoire selections. It provides an ever-expanding range of publications that support beginners right through to postgraduate level performers with learning and test practice resources, and Trinity’s world-renowned Theory exam preparation materials.
Trinity’s music teaching qualifications are designed to support teachers with their very first steps into the music teaching profession (ATRINITY) through to advanced skills teachers (LTRINITY and CME) working in individual, group and class teaching settings. The Teaching Diploma suite (Level 4-6) can be delivered and achieved through a range of contexts from adult learning establishments to vocational providers, employers to self-study. A flexible course structure and opportunity for bespoke contextualisation enables organisations to tailor the qualification to the needs of their workforce.
The Level 4 Certificate for Music Educators, developed in partnership with Arts Council England, provides a route to formal qualifications for music educators working in a range of different settings including Early Years teaching, private and peripatetic instrumental teaching, teacher training HEI courses and remote international training establishments.
