From September 2023 – specifications for Trinity’s face-to-face and digital Drama grades and diplomas are changing

We are pleased to announce some exciting improvements that we’re making to our Drama exams later this year: Trinity's Drama specifications have been refreshed and updated, and are now available to download.

The new syllabus specifications are for exams from September 2023. From this time onwards the 2020 face-to-face and digital grade and diploma specifications will no longer be valid, and all teachers and candidates must use the updated syllabus specifications in exams.

Bring text to life

The Speech and Drama syllabus specifications are designed for candidates who want to develop their skills by engaging with a variety of forms including poetry, prose and play extracts in a range of styles from different periods.

We do not prescribe the content, which allows candidates and teachers to choose literary and dramatic forms in which they have a particular interest or that complement their studies.

  • Develop skills in speaking and understanding text and communication by bringing text to life through performance
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills through practical performance and ability to reflect on your learning
  • Integrates study from wider subjects such as English language, literature and history.
  • Available from Initial to Grade 8 for solo exams
