From September 2023 – specifications for Trinity’s face-to-face and digital Drama grades and diplomas are changing

We are pleased to announce some exciting improvements that we’re making to our Drama exams later this year: Trinity's Drama specifications have been refreshed and updated, and are now available to download.

The new syllabus specifications are for exams from September 2023. From this time onwards the 2020 face-to-face and digital grade and diploma specifications will no longer be valid, and all teachers and candidates must use the updated syllabus specifications in exams.

Practical acting skills for aspiring performers

Acting exams for learners who want to focus on vocal, physical and characterisation skills in dramatic performance.

Solo, pairs or groups can perform a range of play extracts from a variety of periods and styles, and engage with devised forms of theatre. The format of the exams allows them to choose from a wide range of options, focusing on the literary and dramatic forms that complement their studies or that they want to explore further.

  • Develop vocal and physical characterisation skills that actors use to create successful performances
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills through practical performance and ability to reflect on your own learning
  • Available from Initial to Grade 8 for solo, pair and group exams
“The skills you develop as you prepare for a Trinity Acting exam really bring your communication to life. That’s going to be valuable, whichever industry you’re working in, whatever occupation you decide to follow.”

Iain Reekie, Trinity Examiner

Valid until 31 August 2023
