Become a validated TESOL course provider

To run courses for any of our TESOL qualifications CertTESOL, TYLEC, CertPT and DipTESOL), a centre must first become a validated course provider.

We welcome applications from centres and institutions globally, and support them throughout the validation process.

While some details may differ, depending on the qualification(s) a potential validated course provider wishes to deliver, the validation process runs as follows:

1. A potential validated course provider submits an Expression of Interest form to tesol.admin@trinitycollege.com. These should be accompanied by the CVs of prospective course director(s) and tutor(s), each of whom must meet the requirements outlined in the validation requirement documents for that qualification. 2. After an initial review of these, the potential validated course provider is asked to compile a full course proposal. Model proposals, candidate handbooks and proformas are made available to help guide potential validated course providers through this process. Information required includes course frequency, target audience, delivery mode (online, face-to-face, part- or full-time), tutor induction processes, etc. A validation scrutiny fee is payable before submission of this proposal. A fee list can be requested from your local Trinity representative.
   
   
3. Once the potential validated course provider has completed the validation documents, they are sent by Trinity to a member of the TESOL moderation panel for external scrutiny. The member conducting the scrutiny will send feedback to Trinity to relay to the centre, recommending the centre move on to the next stage of the validation process, or highlighting requirements and suggestions for amendment. There is usually some redrafting of the proposal and/or proformas at this stage. Proposals can go through up to three rounds of scrutiny, after which a recommendation may be made to withdraw from the process for a minimum of 12 months.
   
   
4. Once the proposal has met all requirements, a meeting or centre visit is arranged between the centre and a Trinity TESOL representative. This is an opportunity for everyone to meet the teams, review the premises and resources and discuss any questions surrounding the qualification, best practices and moderation processes.
   
   
5. Trinity confirms in writing the completion of the validation process, and administrative details are finalised.
   
   The process of validation takes approximately 12 weeks in total. Our aim is to support you throughout and beyond the process, and to ensure that you are able to deliver the course in a way that best suits your organization and context. Courses should start within 12 months of confirmation.
