King’s Birthday Honours for members of Trinity community in New Zealand

3 Jun 2025

We are delighted to celebrate the recognition of two outstanding members of the Trinity community in the 2025 King's Birthday Honours in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Mrs Alison Perrin has been awarded the King’s Service Medal for services to the community and music. A long-standing Trinity representative, Alison has served as the Convenor of Trinity College London music exams in Rotorua for more than 30 years. Alongside her contributions to music education, she has devoted over four decades to volunteering and mentoring through the Rotorua Citizens’ Advice Bureau and has played a key role in community funding through the Rotorua Trust and other philanthropic organisations.

Mr Peter de Blois has been appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to music. A former Trinity examiner (1999–2007), Peter has dedicated his life to choral music as a conductor, singer and educator. From directing state occasions at Holy Trinity Cathedral in Auckland to mentoring young singers across Aotearoa, he has shaped New Zealand’s choral landscape. He continues this work today at Southland Girls’ High School, nurturing the next generation of vocal talent.

We are proud to join the New Zealand music and education communities in congratulating Alison and Peter on these well-deserved honours. Thank you both for your extraordinary contributions and lasting impact.
