GENERAL INFORMATION
What is Tido Music?
Tido Music is an all-in-one resource and learning tool for musicians of all abilities that provides interactive scores of piano and singing repertoire along with guidance, support and content from the music publishers and performers. Tido has an app for iPad and web browsers.
What Trinity content can I access in Tido Music?
All the songs published in our 2018-2021 Singing books (Initial-Grade 8) are available within the Tido app.
What can I do with the Tido app?
In both the iPad app and web app you can view the sheet music in digital format, enriched with audio and practice tools. You can sing along to our professionally recorded piano accompaniments, with the pages turning automatically, and you can also adjust the tempo and pitch. You can access our spoken pronunciation guides and teaching notes for each song.
In the iPad app, you can also annotate the score and practice with an in-built metronome.
You’ll also have access to Tido Music’s full library of sheet music, audio and support materials from other publishers and composers.
Will I be able to use the Tido app in my exam?
No, The Tido app is designed to be used as a practice tool to help you prepare for your exam. You cannot use the app in your Trinity singing exam.
How do I access the songs from Trinity 2018-2021 graded books in the Tido Music app?
To access the songs from our graded songbooks in the Tido Music app you will first need to set up a Tido account and purchase a subscription to the Tido Music platform. You must have an account to be able to start a subscription. This is so that Tido can ensure that you can always access your content, even if you delete the iPad app or move to a different iPad.
How do I set up a Tido Music account?
Visit www.tido-music.com/Trinity-singing and sign up for an account. You can sign up either with your email address or Facebook account and you do not need to enter payment details at this stage. You can enjoy a 30-day free trial with full access to the Tido library of content, including our Singing 2018-2021 songs. After the trial ends, you will need to set up and pay for a subscription in order to continue using the Tido platform. You can do this via the Tido web browser.
How much does a subscription to Tido Music cost?
A subscription to Tido Music costs £3.49 per month (when you set up your subscription via the Tido web app). This subscription allows you to use the Tido iPad app and the Tido web app. It also gets you access to Tido’s range of sheet music and practice tools from other publishers and composers. Which devices are supported by Tido Music?
The Tido Music app is available for iPad and supports iOS 9.0 and above. Tido Music recommends using an iPad released no earlier than 2014 for the best possible experience. The Tido Music for Web app should run on any device with an internet browser, but Tido Music have designed it for desktop and laptop devices running Chrome, Safari and Firefox. Please note that the Tido Music for Web app was not designed for use in browsers on touch-based devices such as iPhones or Android tablets and therefore may not function correctly on these devices.

How do I find Trinity’s Singing 2018-2021 songs in the Tido app?
Once you have set up an account and you are logged in, you can find our singing content in the top menu on the first page of the app under the heading ‘Explore our collections’. Scroll along to the right until you find a pink box with the title ‘Trinity Singing 2018-2021’. Tap or click this box to open and browse our content.
How do I play a song?
Tap or click on a book cover icon to access all songs in each book. Tap or click the song you want to access to open it up in a new screen. To play a song, click the play button in the menu under the sheet music. All other available controls are within this screen also.
How do I turn off the playhead?
You can turn on and off the purple shaded playhead which shows where you are in the music by toggling the purple playhead button next to the playback controls under the sheet music.
How do I listen to the spoken pronunciation guide?
To listen to our pronunciation guide for each song, click the circle button/icon with the person speaking in it (next to the play button). You can stop, start and scan backwards via the controls that appear in a new menu under the sheet music. To exit the pronunciation guide and go back to the music, click the X icon in the menu. Please note: the pronunciation guides are not designed to play in time with the sheet music. This is because they are spoken, and the spoken words are delivered at a normal speaking pace, rather than at the pace the words would be when sung. The recordings do not include repeats of lines and verses etc.
How do I access the teaching notes?
Our teaching notes for each song are found within the ‘Further reading’ section underneath the list of songs within each book. Tap or click on the Teaching Notes button to open all teaching notes for the grade in a new screen.
